St. Luke’s Health System is the largest health care provider in Idaho with four full-service hospitals and more than 25 outpatient treatment facilities and clinics.
Challenge:
A comprehensive water solution was needed to provide high quality water in specific departments throughout the facility with emphasis on a committed service team who is available 24/7.
Solution:
Full line facility softening is being provided by duplex alternating CSM 600-2CD, ASME water softeners. High purity loop is being provided with an HE auto carbon filter for chlorine removal prior to the G2-2 RO system.
Result:
The Culligan® system produces high quality water that also translates into less re-wash and re-sterilization of expensive and essential surgical equipment. All of this will equate to less down time and more patients being treated, which ultimately means a more profitable bottom line.

In a facility that is designed to treat illness and save lives, continuous access to high quality water is essential to daily operations. St. Luke’s Health System was an existing Culligan® customer, utilizing a wide array of services including PEDI, POU drinking water systems, bottled water and facility water treatment, coupled with an agreement to supply each facility with safe drinking water should events mandate an expanded need.

As this equipment is installed in a hospital environment, it is crucial that the system is always on line to service the facility. As a result, the Culligan® system is designed around redundancy, backed by a commitment to provide St. Luke’s with 24/7 service in the case of an emergency.

Solution

Full line facility softening is being provided by duplex alternating CSM 600-2CD, ASME water softeners. High purity loop is being provided with an HE auto carbon filter for chlorine removal prior to the G2-2 RO system. RO water is being fed into two 210-gallon cone bottom atmospheric tanks that are being repressurized utilizing two stainless steel multi-stage vertical Goulds pumps that are being controlled via two independent variable speed drives.
